Slumber on the Humber was created in my mind in 2022, just a fleeting idea of a festival in my home county and also to raise money and awareness for mental health charities. The reason behind this was simple, after running an events business for 8 years and also events being in my family since I was just 3 years old, I found my self battling with my mental health. Long unsociable hours, never seeing my family and having to permanently have a smile on my face for the benefit of others over time took its toll.

I had the idea and pitched it to my wife Kerri who said I was mental! She wasn't wrong, little did I know the stress, pain and anxiety that was to come. Over the next 14 moths from the idea being planted in June 2022 to the event opening its doors for the first time in August 2023 we had many stressful nights planning and Kerri trying to crowbar the visions out of my head and get them onto paper so others could see it.

Come August 2023 the idea of taking the evil that once consumed my life and putting it to good use to give something back to the community that helped saved me was now a reality. Over the weekend the stress didn't stop there, thankfully we had an amazing team and amazing friends that dragged us through the weekend when we could have easily given in.

We now stand here with the world at our feet, the floodgates have been opened and the people want more!

Now we are building our team to make this event run more smoothly and take away some of the stress that is caused by running a large scale event such as Slumber on the Humber.

Moving on to Slumber on the Humber 24, we have now secured an awesome new venue at Cabourne Parva. This magical venue has hosted many festivals, however it has been laid unused for six years! The team at Slumber on the Humber along with the owners were so please to give Cabourne Parva a new lease of life and breath some fresh festival life into the venue, unfortunately the venue closed after one magical year and we moved onto Wyham, another amazing venue with enough space for Slumber to grow to a comfortable size. Our first Year at Wyham like every other year was hard, not knowing how to set up, what will work best? Every year with a new venue this is the challenge we face. However for the first time for Slumber 2026 we will be staying put, we are now able to take what we learned from last year and adapt to bring you the best Slumber on the Humber yet!
